Position purpose:

Reporting to the Information Technology Manager, manages the endeavours that support the strategic operations of a designated Faculty/Service and share this information with technical and non-technical university staff. Provides leadership and guidelines in the implementation of application solutions. Works with business owners to identify potential data sources and business rules and is responsible for the design of conceptual and logical data models for the data warehouse environment. Supports and maintains operational applications and plays an important role in the design, testing and improvement of the applications that support various endeavours. In that capacity, is responsible for the selection and implementation of appropriate technologies and tools to manage the implantation of new releases.

What you will bring:

University degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS) or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in project planning, risk analysis and project management in a complex and diverse IT environment.
Knowledge and experience in project management methodologies and managing multi-year projects (information security projects would be an added asset) that involve cross-functional systems.
Experience creating estimates (timeframes, budgets, resources, etc.), as well as creating process workflow/information flow maps and performing risk analysis and proposing risk mitigation strategies;
Knowledge and experience with information security best practices, security awareness programs, and information security systems would be an asset.
Knowledge of the University’s IT policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Ability to negotiate and influence clients in accepting solutions that align both the strategic goals of the University and short and long-term client requirements.
Advanced interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with business clients, external vendors and technical resources;
Ability to work with minimal supervision, under pressure and with very firm deadlines;
Ability to proactively keep abreast of new/emerging technologies.
Bilingualism – French and English (spoken and written).
