$75,018-$94,760

Position Purpose

Oversees all aspects of the development and administration of the databases used by the University’s business applications on all centralized administrative computing platforms. Is responsible for many aspects of the database, including but not limited to: initial database architecture design, implementation, administration, access, monitoring, tuning, backup, recovery, migration, and support.

Essential Qualifications

University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in database administration, data administration, logical data design, physical database design, data processing, systems design and application programming.
Knowledge of the management practices in the fields of database and data administration.
Knowledge of the common analysis and data modelling methodologies used in the field.
Knowledge of the strengths and limitations of the common approaches to database design.
Knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
Significant knowledge of supportive software tools.
Significant experience with tools required for the overall monitoring, maintenance and performance of Microsoft SQL Server.
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows server management.
Knowledge of Oracle Database management
Knowledge of Oracle ExaData is an asset
Ability to proactively keep abreast of new/emerging technologies.
Ability to communicate technical concepts to users.
Bilingualism - French and English (spoken and written).
