Salary (Grade: 10)

Hiring salary range
$66,735-$84,300

Position Purpose

Handles employer and job development, maintaining daily contact with employers across a wide spectrum of industry sectors. Develops new CO-OP employment opportunities, maintains relationships with existing employers, studies labour market trends and reports trends and shifts in his or her markets. Creates marketing strategies for his or her assigned disciplines and works with management to implement them. Conducts on-site visits to monitor student performance. Ensures that CO-OP students have access to jobs in their disciplines of sufficient quantity, quality and diversity, offering the necessary level of experience. Works with a CO-OP placement officer to co-manage the job posting life cycle.

Essential Qualifications

Undergraduate degree and several years’ experience in sales or marketing fields
Thorough knowledge of relevant job markets, particularly the federal government
Knowledge of one or more academic disciplines
Knowledge of the University’s academic programs and procedures (an asset)
Knowledge of the other disciplines offered at the University to deal effectively with employers and students
Experience working with one or more contact management products
Experience working effectively with dynamic teams, with desire to be a team player
Experience using computer systems and software such as Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, email and the Internet
Excellent marketing and account management skills
Demonstrated customer service skills
Public speaking skills
Strong time-management skills
Ability to work with employers
Demonstrated ability to work independently to achieve goals
Demonstrated ability to multitask and meet deadlines
Flexibility and adaptability to change
Valid driver’s licence, access to a vehicle and willingness to travel
Bilingualism – French and English (spoken and written); to be considered for this position, candidates must be rated at the Low Advanced proficiency level for both oral comprehension and reading comprehension in their second official language. The rating is determined by a proficiency test designed by the Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute.
