Salary (Grade: NM4)

Hiring salary range
$104,477-$143,659

Position Purpose

Develops and implements strategies, and oversees and manages public and private market investments, for the University of Ottawa pension fund and long-term investment portfolio. Handles various functions in relation to a wide range of asset classes, including money market, global equities, hedge funds, real estate and infrastructure, to ensure sound management and achievement of performance objectives.

Essential Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in commerce or business administration or a related discipline
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or professional accounting (CPA,CA; CPA; CMA; CGA) designation, or an MBA with a demonstrated track record
Record of completion of relevant industry courses (an asset)
Sound knowledge of public or private market investment and industry sectors, with 10 years of progressive investment management experience (or equivalent)
Knowledge and experience regarding accounting principles, with ability to interpret accounting information
Experience, knowledge and understanding regarding typical of private market investment vehicle legal and tax structures
Experience in interpreting and applying complex policies and procedures
Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
Experience working with computer applications, including proficiency in developing and using complex Excel spreadsheets
Excellent problem-solving skills, with proven ability to analyze and resolve complex business issues
Strong persuasion and negotiation skills (written and verbal)
Ability to work independently, with creativity and initiative, to complete assigned tasks, meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities
Bilingualism ó French and English (spoken and written) (an asset)
